Krista and Adam flew to Mount Rainier, Washington and eventually made their way down to Los Angeles by car. Incredible times.

Here are some tourist shots. Here that is again NOT in slideshow form. Here are some Food and restaurant shots. And again NOT in slideshow form. And now some Antique and/ or interesting motor vehicles. Okay, here are some great landscapes we encountered. And finally... interesting things that aren't easily classifiable. THis is basically a photo blog, perhaps we'll add more descriptions later. We need to take vacations so we don't go too crazy running Food Shark. Also made some great Light Experiments the last night of our trip in LA. Hope you enjoyed the photos. Check out some of the older blogs as well if you like what you've seen here.

Easter Island honeymoon - Adam & Krista

We went to Easter Island or Rapa Nui as it is called in the native language, Rapa Nui by the Rapa Nui people. We posted a bunch of photo sets on this blog. The 1st link will be a SET with photos you can choose individually. The 2nd link will be a SLIDESHOW of the same pix at 5 second intervals.
We had a great time, please take some time to look at the pictures if you're curious about Easter Island or our honeymoon or both. The most famous attractions are the Moai slideshow . We flew there (slideshow). It took over 24 hours to get there and over 53 hours to get back.

Here are some shots of Adam and Krista (slideshow) on Easter Island enjoying their honeymoon. We ate a lot of interesting food (slideshow) and Krista cooked for us as well (always delicious).

We stayed at some comfortable places (slideshow).

We arrived during their big festival celebrating the Rapa Nui culture, called Tapati (slideshow).

We wore our Food Shark uniforms (slideshow) to a few places on the island. We also made a video using the original version of Food Shark shark theme song found in an old email.

We got new hiking shoes (slideshow) for the trip. We had an amazing personal tour of the Island by a man named Patricio (slideshow).

There were more trees (slideshow) than we had expected. There were also many beautiful plants (slideshow).

We learned that Easter Island has one of the best flags (slideshow) in the world. The landscape (slideshow) was genuinely breathtaking.

There are more horses (slideshow) on Easter Island than people.

There were a couple morning markets (slideshow) with fresh fruits, vegetables, meats etc.

We rode bikes (slideshow) all over the island. Here is a video of the bike ride. WARNING, may take awhile to load and it is about 13 minutes long.

Easter Island is surrounded by the Mighty Pacific (slideshow) so of course we saw a few boats (slideshow).

We encountered a few interesting vehicles (slideshow) in our travels on the Island. Easter Island also has a large dog (slideshow) population which survive in large part to handouts from tourists.

Took a few LONG exposures (slideshow) at night.

Encountered some interesting architecture (slideshow) ancient, old and modern. Almost all of the little markets had signs made by Coca Cola (slideshow).

Of course we brought back some souvenirs (slideshow). Had an incredible time, wouldn't trade it for the world. WARNING - Easter Island may be the most expensive place on Earth. We loved our vacation from life and Food Shark but we're happy to return to work?? Remember, you can revisit the blog and watch more slideshows and videos. We know there's a lot of info here. Food Shark trip to the Bahamas 2010

Hi folks, in June 2010, we went to the Bahamas for a vacation.
Nassau was ok, but Eleuthera is where it's at.
The island is around 110 miles long and you can walk from the Caribbean side to the Atlantic side in many parts. It's fairly undeveloped and we're pretty sure we'll come back. A friend let us stay at her house and we have had a wonderful, exciting and relaxing time. We work pretty hard most of the year, so it's good to escape for a week or 2 here and there. Here are a few slideshows from this vacation.

We went on a much needed vacation to the sleepy diving community of Paamul near Tulum, Mexico. We went with our dear friend Tobin. We came here 2 years ago with Tobin as well. Here is a slideshow of highlights from our trip this year (October 2009).

Food Shark Vacation Italy and Turkey May/June 2009

So Food Shark was closed for 3 weeks early May through June 5th. We're open tomorrow, friday and Saturday and back to normal hours next week. We went to Italy, Sicily and Turkey and here are a bunch of photos to prove it. 1st is a slideshow on flickr.com of food we encountered and some people who prepared it. Some fish markets, some hotel breakfasts, some airport food in Bucharest, Romania, some meals Krista had in Sicily before i arrived in Italy. Haven't added descriptions to individual photos yet.

how it works

what to order: there are 3 entrée selections to choose from per week. In addition, there are soups, salads and desserts that are available all month. there is no minimum order.

when to order: you must order by thursday afternoon (4 pm) for the following monday delivery. advance orders are welcome.

when it’s delivered: we deliver your orders monday late afternoon/early evening, between 4-6pm. we can leave your food on the porch, inside your door, inside your refrigerator, or in your hands. please give instructions and contact information when ordering.

how to order: email orders are preferred (kriskaystein@yahoo.com); telephone orders are welcome as well (432-386-6757). lease keep in mind the thursday deadline. we’ll do our best to accommodate late orders, but we cannot guarantee them.

$$: we accept cash and checks. payment upon delivery is requested. Your orders will be confirmed with the total. delivery is free of charge for marfa and $7 for alpine and fort davis.

large tortilla filled with falafel balls, fresh romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, tahini, yogurt and harissa sauce.

FOOD SHARK is a mobile food unit traveling primarily, but not exclusively, through the eastern mediterranean. all food is homemade/handmade by FOOD SHARK with an effort to use organic and locally produced ingredients when possible. FOOD SHARK happily accommodates vegetarian and vegan diets. please let us know if you have other specific dietary concerns.

some definitions
falafel: balls of ground chickpeas, onion, garlic, fresh herbs, spices and lemon fried golden in non-hydrogenated canola oil.
hummus: a spread made of chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, garlic, spices and olive oil. mediterranean bean-dip – ask for a taste.
tahini: a paste made of ground sesame seeds. tahini sauce also has lemon juice and a bit of garlic.
harissa sauce: north african hot pepper sauce seasoned with cumin, coriander and caraway.

FOOD SHARK LAST SUNDAY SUPPERS stay tuned for dinners served the last sunday of every month. menus and location will be announced at the SHARK and around town.

And though it has been widely speculated that the forehead is used in the mashing of garbanzo beans, there has so far been no evidence of this as per the Texas State Department of Health.
